Washington Capitals prospect Andrew Cristall absolutely dominated the Kamloops Blazers on Friday night. The 19-year-old forward put up an absurd seven points (2g, 5a) in a 9-1 win for the Kelowna Rockets.

he career-high performance made up of solely primary points lifted Cristall over the 100-point plateau for the first time in his WHL career. He is the first Rockets player to hit the single-season milestone since Colin Long had exactly 100 points in 72 games for Kelowna back during the 2007-08 campaign.

The 2023 second-round draft selection now has 102 points (37g, 65a) in 56 games this year. His 1.82 point-per-game rate ranks third in the entire league and first in his age group.

Point 96

Cristall kicked off his huge night halfway through the first period with his first primary assist of five in the game. After receiving the puck at his own blueline, Cristall rushed up the ice and placed a perfectly weighted pass between two Blazers defenders to defenseman Marek Rocak who easily finished past goaltender Jesse Sanche.

Point 97

Cristall’s second point was another assist and came just a little over a minute after his first helper. With Kelowna maintaining possession in the offensive zone, Cristall fed defender Carter Kowalyk along the left side of the boards. Kowalyk then sped around the back of Kamloops’ net and wrapped home his first goal of the season.

Point 98

The BC native showed off some his newfound speed to earn his third point of the first period. With the puck dumped behind the Blazers net, Cristall was the first to pounce on the loose biscuit and sent a no-look feed through the slot to Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Gabriel Szturc.

Point 99

Cristall made it four straight primary assists on the first four goals of the game eight minutes into the second period. With the Rockets on a power play, he paired up with Dylan Wightman on a deft give and go play that had Blazers penalty killers all out of sorts.

Point 100

Cristall hit the big 100 mark with his first marker of the evening. After a turnover in the Kamloops zone, Cristall picked the puck up at the top of the right faceoff circle and made a pretty move around a defender and Sanche in net.

He would add an additional two points to get to 102 points on the year. Kelowna’s victory also clinched a WHL playoff berth for the Rockets as they’ve won six of their last seven games to sit third in the BC Division.

During his recent six-game point streak, he has recorded 16 points (6g, 10a). Earlier this season, Cristall had points in 23-straight games from November 3 through January 19, netting 45 points.
