The Washington Capitals selected Guelph Storm forward Jake Karabela with their 5th round selection, 149th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.
Karabela had 12 goals, 33 assists and 45 points in 68 games for the Guelph Storm (OHL) in 2021-22, his rookie season of Junior hockey. In the OHL Playoffs the Guelph native had 4 points (2G, 2A) in 5GP.
The 5-foot-11, forward was one of the top players, serving as an assistant captain, at the CHL’s Top Prospects Game with a goal and an assist in Team White’s 3-1 victory.
