BUFFALO, N.Y. – USA Hockey named the 23 players set to represent the U.S. at the 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship from August 25 – September 4 in Herning and Frederikshavn, Denmark.
The team returns 18 players from the 2022 U.S. Olympic Women’s Hockey Team that took home silver in February, including Abby Roque.
Katie Million, USA Hockey ‘s Director of Women’s National Programs said. “Choosing a team is never easy, but these 23 players earned the right to put on the U.S. jersey. We’re excited to bring this team to Denmark, as we look to take home a women’s world championship title.”
“I am excited to officially have our team as we continue to prepare for women’s worlds,” John Wroblewski, head coach of the 2022 U.S. Women’s National Team said. “As a staff, we are confident in the skill and grit of this team and are excited to begin our journey to achieve our goals in Denmark.”
