WD Sports & Entertainment (WDSE) is excited to announce that Rob Stewart will be joining the team.

Stewart served as the Assistant General Manager of the Barrie Colts for the past seven seasons after spending the previous five seasons on the scouting staff. He will be tasked with overseeing WDSE’s recruitment and client services in Ontario ahead of the OHL’s annual Priority Selection and Draft for the top U16 players.

WDSE’s CEO Murray Koontz comments regarding the new team member shed light on Stewart’s impressive track record. “His duties were focused on scouting and the OHL Priority Selection where he and his staff were able to produce many future NHLers, including WDSE client Tyson Foerster, the Philadelphia Flyers’ 2020 First Round Pick at the NHL Entry Draft.”

Additionally, “Rob also brings extensive coaching experience and knowledge of the Women’s game from his time with the Cambridge Rivulettes of the OWHL. Rob is looking forward to working closely with our current pro players as well as mentoring the next generation of WD clients as they pursue their professional hockey dreams.”

The Colts were incredibly grateful for Stewarts contributions to the Colts. “We would like to thank Rob for his dedication to the entire Colts organization for the past ten-plus years. He was a key member and friend to our organization’s success and we would like to wish him the best of luck moving forward” commented Head Coach & GM, Marty Williamson.

“It’s great to see Rob continue in his next role and wish him all the best in his hockey career. He’s been a great part of the Colts organization for 12 seasons and we’re happy to see him move to the next level of his career” added Owner & President, Howie Campbell in the Colts’ statement.
