The London Knights have named their captains for the 2022-23 season.
Overagers Sean McGurn and George Diaco will lead the way as co-captains for the Knights.
McGurn, who was an alternate captain last year, is coming off a career season where he recorded 73 points 66 games last season. McGurn is the longest tenured Knight on the team, drafted 53rd overall in 2018 by the Knights. McGurn is second in scoring this season, behind Diaco, with 15 points in 13 games thus far.
Diaco, a 2021-22 OHL Champion and Memorial Cup finalist will share the captaincy with McGurn. Diaco has been a spark to the Knights offence since coming over via trade in early October, providing 17 points in 12 games and sitting 4th in the league with 8 goals. Diaco, a London native, becomes the captain of his childhood team in his final OHL season.
McGurn and Diaco become the most recent Knights co-captains since Alec Regula and Liam Foudy in 2019-20 along with other co-captains such as Marner and Dvorak, etc.
McGurn will wear the C when the Knights wear their white jerseys and specialty jerseys while Diaco will wear the C when the Knights sport their green jerseys.
