WD Sports and Entertainment client and Nashville Predators forward Cody Glass will represent Team Canada at this month’s 2023 IIHF World Championship from Finland and Latvia.
Glass will be joining a talent rich Canadian squad, which makes this even more of a huge honour for the 24 year-old. Team Canada will take on Team Latvia in Group B action to open the tournament.
In international play, Glass has represented Canada three previous times. He put up six points in five games for the U-20 squad at the WJC-20 after being drafted sixth overall by Vegas in 2017.
He became the Predators’ top-line centre after a hectic trade deadline and a rash of team injuries in 2023 after entering the preseason ready to prove himself to the organization that gave him a second chance after the Vegas Golden Knights trade.
Glass was a key reason the Nashville Predators were fighting in the playoff race up until the 80th game of the regular season before finally being eliminated.
For 2023-24, Glass’ role will continue to be of vital importance as the Nashville Predators shift to a new era and make a return back to the postseason in 2024. He has a strong chance of centering the top line on opening night for the Nashville Predators with Filip Forsberg and Matt Duchene returning from their injuries.
Glass finished the 2022-23 season with 35 points, good for sixth on the Nashville Predators. He saw a lot of work on a Predators power play that went through growing pains, but was showing promise down the stretch. He added six power play goals.
